Employment Contract Translation
An employment contract translation helps employees, employers and receiving authorities understand the agreed terms. Not every contract needs certification: the purpose of the translation and the authority’s instructions determine the appropriate service.

Work visas and residence
An immigration application may require a signed employment contract or offer. Check whether the whole contract, amendments and job description must be included.
Employee understanding
An employee may need a readable translation to understand pay, duties, working hours and notice provisions. This differs from a certified submission to an authority.
Cross-border HR and legal review
Companies may need contracts reviewed in another language. Translation communicates the existing wording; legal advice or adaptation to another jurisdiction requires a separate professional assessment.
A translation is not legal advice and does not make an employment contract compliant with another country’s law. Have substantive legal questions reviewed by a qualified adviser.
When is certification required?
The receiving authority decides whether it needs a standard, certified or sworn translation and who may certify it. A complete translation may need to include signatures, stamps, seals and annotations. Translation does not authenticate the underlying document or guarantee acceptance.
Compare certified and sworn translationsWhat to provide.
- The signed contract and relevant appendices or amendments.
- The source and target languages and intended use.
- Any defined company terminology or earlier approved translations.
- Instructions on certification, deadline and recipients.
Requirements differ by destination.
The issuing country, receiving institution and procedure all matter. Confirm the required translator credentials, accepted language and paper or electronic format before ordering. These country pages explain the starting points—not universal acceptance rules.
For other destinations, consult our translation requirements directory. For example, USCIS submissions and UK visitor-visa evidence have their own certification instructions.
Languages and quotation.
Tell us the source language, target language and country where the document will be used. The team checks the requested combination and certification requirements before confirming the quotation; availability is not assumed for every language pair.
The price depends on length, layout, language pair, certification, urgency, additional copies and physical delivery. There is no fixed price that applies to every document.
Timing and delivery.
Turnaround depends on document length, readability, translator availability and the required formalities. Paper delivery, notarization or legalization may add separate steps. Tell us your submission deadline so feasibility can be assessed before you approve.
Ask your receiving institution whether it accepts an electronic translation or requires a signed paper copy. Confirm the agreed price, deadline and delivery format in the quotation.

Frequently asked questions.
Does an employment contract need sworn translation?
Only when the receiving authority or procedure requires it. A standard translation may be enough for internal understanding.
Are annexes translated too?
Provide them for review and state which are required. Salary schedules, amendments or job descriptions may be part of the application.
Can the terms be adapted to local employment law?
That is not part of an ordinary translation. Legal drafting or adaptation should be handled with qualified legal advice.
Will every authority accept the translation?
No universal acceptance guarantee is possible. Send the receiving authority’s current instructions and confirm the required credentials and format before ordering.
